Changing Lives, Creating Hope

It's a new season. A hope-filled season. We are delighted to finally share the nexts for Imagine Missions with all of you!

Hello Imagine Missions Family, I want to thank you for your prayers and continued commitment to Imagine Missions in this period of transition. The board has prayerfully considered and been in conversation about hiring a new international director. It has been a pleasure working with Melissa Young all of these years, and Imagine Missions would not be what it is without the dedication and commitment of Melissa Young. Melissa’s resignation date will be effective August 31, 2021, so the board has worked diligently to make this transition as smooth as possible for our supporters, staff in Haiti, and our Imagine Missions families.

At this time, it is my pleasure to let you know that the board has hired Crystal Whitmire as the interim director of Imagine Missions. Crystal has served as a Board Member for Imagine Missions in the past and is currently the finance director for Imagine Missions. Crystal and her family are deeply committed to the students at our school and the families that we have reunified. Crystal is familiar with the history of Imagine Missions and has a great vision for the future of Imagine Missions. Crystal will work closely with Melissa in the next few weeks to make this transition.

The interim term will run from September 1, 2021 through March 1, 2021. This six month time period will provide the board time to evaluate other potential candidates, assess the needs of Imagine Mission, and work closely with Crystal to ensure her success as interim director. It is our hope that in the next six months, a full time director will be named and will work towards the vision and mission that has been set forth by the board of Imagine Missions.

These next few months will continue to be a time of transition and myself and the board respectfully ask that you continue to pray for Imagine Missions, continue financially supporting Imagine Missions, and that open lines of communication continue between Crystal, the board, and our supporters. If at any time at all, you have a question or concern please send an email to president@imaginemissions.org, and I will be happy to set time for a conversation. In addition, Crystal is looking forward to the opportunity to communicate with our supporters on a personal level. Crystal has requested that supporters click on the link below to schedule a meet and greet with her! Crystal is personable, is open to recommendations, and ready to hear from you, so please take the time to talk with her and hear her goals and vision in leading Imagine Missions.

As we move forward, the board and Crystal are committed to providing consistent updates to our Imagine Missions family. While there are safety concerns in Haiti due to political and social instabilities on the ground, we want to give you the best updates possible. We will always make safety our first priority and will not provide any information that may jeopardize students, staff, or families, but we are committed to keeping our supporters connected as much as possible while travel to Haiti is still not possible.

Thank you for your prayers, patience and understanding, and continued support of Imagine Missions. Please continue in prayer for the board and Crystal as we work in this transition in the best interest of our students and families. We are grateful for Crystal’s commitment and dedication to this mission and I am excited to see how she leads us.

With Love,
Amber N. Zwick
Imagine Missions Board President

Family Matters. That's why in 2019 we partnered with Haiti Mama to reunify the children in our care with their families or find family-style living situations. And why we established a 3-year plan to help these families work towards self-sustainability through the Family Empowerment Project.

Job Creation Matters. Back in 2019, Imagine Missions reunified 37 families. We made a promise to each of them that we would provide family assistance and support them through a job creation program. With everything going on in Haiti, we haven't had the chance to follow through on those promises, but we believe 2022 is the year to do it!  to start! We are excited to watch our families grow through this process and we know they're going to change Haiti, one business at a time.

Travel to Haiti: Due to recent unrest and the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no teams scheduled until further notice to ensure safety for all. We miss you, and would love your partnership from home to continue to impact children and families in Haiti!
